MAPPING

THE MILLENNIUM DEVELOPMENT GOALS!

Is your church involved in supporting ministries which will help eradicate extreme global poverty? The Diocese of Northern California, in conjunction with  Episcopalians for Global Reconciliation , is joining with dioceses from the all over the Episcopal Church to “Map the MDGs”.  Our goal is to gather information on all that is going on within the Episcopal Church with MDGs .

At our 2008 diocesan convention, the MDG Task Force began finding out the ways our churches are involved in helping to achieve the MDGs through interviews and a display map highlighting churches involved. This will be an ongoing process since new ministries are being developed all the time.

Is your church involved with Episcopal Relief and Development ? Did you walk in a CROP Walk ? Do you have a missionary effort which you are supporting? Are your youth involved in 30 Hour Famine activities? Is your church a ONE Congregation? Are you a member of Episcopal Public Policy Network ? How about  The Episcopal network for Economic Justice ? Is 0.7% of your budget aimed toward MDG's?(formally or informally).( Have you offered any classes or regarding Educational Opportunities for global poverty? Are you interested in learning more?

The possible ways to be involved are numerous. Please let us know what you are doing, along with the name of your contact person.

Not sure about the MDGs? Want to know more about how you might get involved? We have information and members who are able to come to your church to help explore these questions.
