IMPORTANT:  Open Enrollment deadline is October 23.  To all active employees and early retirees: if you do not enroll on-line by that date, YOU WILL NOT BE INSURED.

 

 

Retired clergy age 65 and older will continue to receive health insurance benefits directly through Church Pension Group (CPG).  The Diocese will continue to pay your premiums as billed to the Diocese and will invoice for the share to be paid by the retired clergy.  The Diocesan Board of Directors has not acted to change the retiree share of health insurance premiums for any existing retirees.   Please contact CPG if you have questions or concerns regarding your insurance coverage and the renewal process.

Clergy Advent Quiet Day – at St. Dorothy’s Rest in Camp Meeker from Friday, Nov. 21 at 3:00 p.m. until Saturday, Nov. 22 at 3:30 p.m.  This is an opportunity for clergy to prayerfully prepare for the coming Holy Season of Advent.  Commuters welcome for $36 (three meals), or stay the night for $86 ($96 for a single room while they last.)  RSVP to Thea Mangels at 442-6918 ext. 10 or tmangels@dncweb.org .

Camp Noel Porter Gala - The 17th Annual Gala Auction benefiting Camp Noel Porter will be held on Saturday, November 1 at 5 pm at Trinity Cathedral, 2620 Capital Avenue, Sacramento. This is the major fundraiser for CNP. 50% of the budget comes from camp and retreat fees, 25% from Diocesan support and 25% from the fundraiser. There will be silent and live auctions, along with tapa-style munchies, wine, beer and soft drinks. Your support is needed for this vitally important ministry to continue to grow! Halloween Dance and Haunted House  - sponsored by The Trinity Cathedral Youth Group on Saturday, October 25 at 7:00 p.m. All youth 6th grade - 12th grade from the diocese are welcome. We will make arrangements for youth who would like to stay the night and attend the 9:00 am service. The cost is $10.00 per person. Clergy Spouse Lunch - The Bishop’s spouse, The Rev. Ann Hallisey, invites all clergy & seminarian spouses & partners to have lunch together during diocesan convention. Ann says, “One of the most interesting days [from the Spouse Conference at Lambeth] was dedicated to stewardship of God’s creation.  It would be great to share ideas about what you and your congregation are doing toward this Millennium Development Goal # 7 – Environmental Sustainability.” Cost is $15 per person, payable when you register at Convention. Commission for Intercultural Ministry - Rico Bayani and Ray Hess are co-chairs of a new commission to support and develop intercultural ministry.  The first meeting is Wednesday Oct. 8th at 7 p.m. in the upstairs conference room in the Office of the Bishop. EfM Mentor Training - at Bishop's Close in Portland, Oregon on October 23-25, 2008. It will consist of Basic/In-Service training. 18 contact hours are required, so full participation is expected.  Fees ($125) are due before the training begins, and include training materials, 2 lunches and 2 dinners. A non-refundable deposit of at least half ($65) the registration fee is required to reserve your place.
