Letter from the Mission Apportionment Committee
June 20, 2009Dear Friends, Thank you for your thoughtful consideration of the Mission Apportionment system of our Diocese. We received many good suggestions at the Congregational Leadership Conference, which we have collected and enclosed to share with you. Additional feedback may be found online at www.dncweb.org as well. The Mission Apportionment Committee met to discuss your input and looked seriously at various methods commonly used by other dioceses. Enclosed you will find our analysis of these methods and our recommendation for a change to calculating Mission Apportionment beginning in 2010. We have also enclosed for your convenience a statement comparing how the various methods in this letter would have affected your congregation in 2008, which is the latest year for which we have complete information. Please discuss this proposal with your vestry/mission committee. Your feedback is important to us! Please submit any comments, questions or concerns regarding this recommendation to us by July 31 to assure your thoughts are received and considered prior to our early August meeting to finalize the resolution to convention.
