Letter from the Director

Episcopal Community Services of the Diocese of Northern California is pleased to announce its first annual "Episcopal Community Services Appeal" on Sunday, January 25.  We hope that every church in the Diocese will participate, and that members give generously, since the money raised will be returned to our churches in the form of grants and support for outreach and health ministry.

In these difficult economic times, it is more important than ever to assist in the work of feeding, sheltering and caring for the poor in our communities.  As I travel through the Diocese, I am deeply moved by the compassion of so many in our congregations.  Episcopal Community Services is one of the few organizations that supports this ministry.

On Sunday, January 25, you will receive a report and a pledge envelope from Episcopal Community Services.  In addition, you will hear a message from Bishop Beisner regarding our work throughout the Diocese, and have the opportunity to make a contribution.

May the Holy Spirit continue to inspire and lead us through this time of Christmas and Epiphany, as we marvel once again at the birth of the Christ child.

Sincerely,

The Rev. Eric T. Duff, Executive Director
